At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in an
environment where the audience is supportive. Typically a Toastmasters club is made up
of 20 to 30 people who meet once a week for about an hour. Each meeting gives participants an
opportunity to practice:
Conducting Meetings - such as learning to set up agendas and following agendas.
Impromptu Speeches - Members are called upon to give short speeches about assigned topics, unknown until called upon.
Prepared Speeches - Specified members will give speeches on specific topics that are part of the Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Program manuals.
Evaluations - Learning to speak is only half the learning process. At Toastmasters you will also learn how to listen to speakers and evaluate their speeches.
