At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in an environment where the audience is supportive. Typically a Toastmasters club is made up of 20 to 30 people who meet once a week for about an hour. Each meeting gives participants an opportunity to practice:

  • Conducting Meetings - such as learning to set up agendas and following agendas.

  • Impromptu Speeches - Members are called upon to give short speeches about assigned topics, unknown until called upon.

  • Prepared Speeches - Specified members will give speeches on specific topics that are part of the Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Program manuals.

  • Evaluations - Learning to speak is only half the learning process. At Toastmasters you will also learn how to listen to speakers and evaluate their speeches.
  • Mission: The mission of a Toastmaster club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
