Do you find sometime hard to breathe? What do you think is the caused? And what necessary treatment is needed to relieve this problem? To give us idea in this regard, let us consider the following information that I will mention here that is base on one reference.
If your breathing is abnormal, this is called periodical breathing which characterized by oscillation of ventilation between hyperpnea and hypopnea with crescendo-decrescendo pattern in the depth of respiration. What do you know about the term hyperpnea and hypopnea? To help us understand this term, let us consider the details that follow.
According to one reference, hyperpnea (or hyperpnoea) is increased depth of breathing when required to meet metabolic demand of body tissues and this happened during exercise or when the body is lack of oxygen. How about the hypopnea? Yes, hepopnea (or hypopnoea) is a medical term for a disorder which involves episodes of overly shallow or very little breathing or an abnormally low respiratory rate. This will happen while asleep (sleep disorder) or while awake and both causes a drop in blood oxygen level.
The periodic breathing and Cheyne – Stokes respiration are both known as Central sleep apnoea syndrome, a sleep-related disorder which breathing is diminished or sometimes it is absent. To avoid such problem, you must not take toxic dose of central respiratory depressant drugs and even large doses of alcohol.
